Coping with a pet's illness

When a pet becomes ill, it is very worrying, we do not understand, we try to compare what we believe to be the problem with that of humans, animals don't worry about what might happen to them or when it might happen, stay calm re assure your pet and re assure your self. Above all do not give up hope.

Losing your pet

Trying to come to terms with the grief of losing a pet is not easy to describe nor is it easy to take away the pain of grief.

Here we will try to help you, but first try to gather your thoughts, think about the good times, make a cup of tea, have a smoke whatever they remember you doing. It is important to you to keep things as normal as possible in an abnormal world.

Please see the Blue Cross site for excellent help in all aspects of animal care. Find 10 tips to help cope with your loss, here.

People affected

Everyone around you will be affected by what is happening, your friends, neighbours, relatives, work colleagues and don't forget the stress and strain your vet and their staff are under, understanding how important this is, is better explained here.
